rail replacement journeys are typically painful and awkward affairs, this weekend however i managed to find a great alternative to sitting on an old bus crawling along at 0.5mph. i had to get across the thames to work and decided to take the woolwich ferry. it was the first ferry of a beautiful spring morning and the early sun was kissing the yawning river - luckily i had my phone to capture the lazy 15 minute drift across the water, a wonderful way to start the day and the best travel to work for a long, long time...
